Shoup, died this morning aged 68 years, after a lingering illness. Ho was tho last territorial governor of Idaho, nnd was first elected when tho state was admitted. Evans, tho citizens' nominee, wns re-elected mayor over E. D. Briggs, who headed tho people's ticket, by tho narrow margin of 12 votes, in a total of 732 cast in tho severnl wards. Mil ton Berry, people's, was roelcctcd city recorder over ox-Scuator S. II. Holt, the citizens' nominee, by 72. C. II. Thomas, people's, was elected city treasurer over L. L. Munlit by n singlo voto. Two peoplo'sticket nominees for councilmon, O. O. Ilolniun, in tho first wnrd, and C. E. Eliason, in tho sec ond ward, wore elected by good major ities over J. K. VniiSant nnd D. D. Ap plegatc, nnd one citizens' nominees for council, W. N. Grubb, in tho third wnrd was elected over F. W. Moore by 40 votes. A voto was also taken on tho question of license or no licenso for sa loons for tho ensuing year, nnd resulted in 357 for and 3G0 ngainst.
