Kingston was run over and killed by n Commercial street car last night, shortly after tho firo alarm sounded. Tho dog was a huge ( beast, weighing probably 140 pounds, and tho contact threw tho car from tho track, suspending traffic for somo time. From accounts furnish to Tho Journnl tho dog was Instantly killed, nnd no blamo can bo attached to tho motor man, for there was another man on the front of tho car, and both wero keeping a sharp lookout, ns thero were so many peoplo getting on and off at every crossing that a vigilant watch was nec essary, but tho dog, which was of a dirty gray color, was so near tho color of tho ground that It wns impossiblo to seo him until it wns too lato to stop the car. Ho was lying between tho rails with Ht back toward tho enr, and, making no movement, nnd could easily bo mistaken for a dnrk shadow at night. Tho dog wns n vnlunblo one, nnd family deeply regret its loss. o Reception to Pastor. Rev.
