Tho Portland Commercial Club has issued a call for a convention of tho Orogon Development League, to bo held at tho Marquam Grand Thea ter, in Portland, August 2d and 3d. All commercial, agricultural, mining, stock raising and irrigation interests will bo represented; every editor In tho state will bo invited to attend as a delegato, county commissioners and mayors of all towns and cities will also be called upon to namo delegates. The Portland Woman's Club will look after tho comfort of ladles accom panying delogates, and, among other entertainments, have arranged for a trolley ride on August 2d, taking In the most interesting and beautiful en virons of Portland, and on August 3d 10 street cars will be provided for a trip over tho entire city.
