Although It was a dlmgree- able duy to bo out, everything was cherry an 1 bilght within, and when tho services began, the church was cotn'brti.b'y filled. lho exorcises commenced with a voluntary, by Prof. Parvln. The choir an l congregation uoxt sang No. 140. This waB followed by a prayer by Rev. O. C. Pi Hug, of La Fayette. The next number was a song, No. 180, which was followed bv an anthem by the choir "Father, Oh Hear IK" Rev. C C. Poling Ihen read the Scripture Uvson, taken from Haggal, 11, 1-10, aud Zch- arlah, I, 7-10. The speaker elmHe for his text Zecharlah, I, 7-10, from which he delivered an tloqueut and most liu-' pressive discourse. After the conclusion of thedlscourse, the choir and congregation joined lu slnelnir No. 210, after which a collee tlon was taken. The pastor, Rev. J. Bowersox, then gave some statistics, as to thi financial condition, of the church. He sa'd tho mateilal and labor of the church building, cost $1600, all but 1471 o' willed bad beeu rub scribed. Rev. Bowersox suggested that a sub scription be asktd from the frleuds of the church, which wis liber.uly re- sponded to, $329 00 bring raised The dedication of the church next took plac , the exeroUes being short and impressive. Services were belli in th' afternoon at 3 o'cock, conducted by Hev. Ballantyne, of Bueua Vista. Rev. T. L. Weaver, of Porllaud, led the Y. P. S. C. E. meeting at 0:30 p. in , which was a very Interesting meoting. Services wera held again In the even ing, conducted by Rev. O. U. Poling, who chose for his text Isaiah, xll 0 Havlug beeu deprived of their church property, the pastor and the members set themselves with ambition and energy to secure this their now place of worship. They feel highly gratified over the results achieved and feel un itedly grateful for all the aMUstaiuo -!.. .! T. L. Weaver, Portland; and Prof. O. A. Bowman, Li Fayette. The church Id 49x42 outside measure, tho main room belug 40x30. Adjoin ing the main room Is a small room to bo used for the Y. P. S. O. E. and so clal gatherings, tho dimensions of which, including the vestibulo, are 40x 12 which is connected with the main room by two sets of folding doors. Mr. Young was chief carpenter was assisted by Messrs. Worrlck, Cad well, Robinson and Van der Bau. Tho pulpit is a nice piece of workman ship being the handiwork of Andrew Hanson. Tho platform upon which the pulpit stands, Is in circular form the pulpit being in the northeast cor ner of tho church. Tho platform,, which Is 0x16 feet Is extended alunsi across the room for tho uso of tho choir. Frauk Steel did the fresco work, The celling Is laid oft into four panels, nicely embellahed, the crowning work being tho center piece, w hlch Is a blblo which appears to faeo you aa you view It from either aide of tho room.
