One Jap anese soldier was killed, and three wounded. The scouting party was re inforced and occupied a position at Bo koko, where it was attacked by the enemy in largo force. Over forty Jap anese were killed. A company of In fantry, sent to reconnoitre Kwan Tien and Saibarhu were attacked by a large force of Chinese, November 20, at Tas- cowan and compelled to retreat with a loss of several killed. Field Marshal Yamagata adds that measures have been taken to clear the country around Kwan Tien and Saibarhu. Detach ments under General Tachlmaand Col. Nissynla have reached their destlna tlons, after a slight resistance. They attacked the enemy at Salknboii No vember 23 and compelled the Chinese troops to retire.
