A delegation of about a dozen repre sentatives of unemployed women of San Francisco called on the judiciary com mittee of the board of supervisors Sat urday and asked that immediate pro vision be mude for their assistance. The speakers drew special attention to the $2000 of unused printing fees that lies to the credit of the clerk of the board. It Was urged that this idle money be wiihdrawn and merged iuto a fund for the support of the 1000 or more destitute women. The matter was takeu under advisement by the committee. Miss May Clark, a Goldendale school teacher, was tried before Justice Camp bell last week for indicting severe cor poral punishment upou a pupil. She was promptly acquitted, as the prose cution failed utterly to prove its case, and the young lady's friends made up a purse to pay her lawyer's fee. San Francisco, March ". Auuie J. Kelley, who was a prominent witness in thetrhl of Mrs. Louise Worthing ton for the murder of Henry J. Badde- ley last May, and who was a great friend of the accused, died here from consumption. Mrs. Lease, the reform agitator and orator, lias received word from Dundalk, Ire- laud, that by a will, made by au aunt of hers nineteen years ago, she Is heiress to a larire fortune which has been accumulating interest ever since, Irish relatives did not kuow what had become of the Clines, of whom Mrs. Lease Is oue.uutil her fame spread over the continent.
