President Huerta faci ally states that Madero and Suarez were shot durinc an attack by a party of Madero's friends who were attempt ing to rescue the ex-president. Ma dero's assassination had been anticipat ed for several days and the United I States officials had brought all possible pressure to bear to save his life, but ( apparently to no avail. No one will ' doubt but that Madero and Suarez i were murdered in cold bUxd.
