ORMUO SATURDAY, .NOVEMBER , 1S-1S M STOP A1 HI.AMATII FAI.LM What the War Moves Mean By J. W. T. MASON (Written for the United Pre) NEW YORK, Nov. 6. The Greek cabinet criai probably mean that former Premier Veniselo has decided to try to control again the govern ment, and plunge Greece Into the war, The alliea may, as a matter of fact, plan a coup d'etat and rally the Greek people againat the king' policy of neutrality. If the boldness of auch a move suc ceeds, it would have a lightning ef fect on the situation, and mean Great Britain's recovery of prestige in the Balkans, loat through diplomatic fail ure. It has been reported that Germany Is exerting prewar on King Constan tine to order demobilisation. One issued, such an order would mean that Grecian participation in the con flict would become too remote for practical consideration. Probably the alliea decided on a quick test of strength between Veni- selo and the king. If necessary. If this la true, their time to well chosen. The landing of the alliea at Salon ika stirred Ork sympathies for the allies. Moreover, the difficulties of the Germans in moving on Nlab, and the lack of brilliant Bulgarian vic tories most suggest to the Greeks the probability of victory for their arms If tbey enter with the allies. Nevertheless. It Is not certain that the king and his policy can be beaten. In to previous conflicts of opinion over neutrality, he won. And, the strongest weapon the king has Is the argument that Venizelos is inspired by foreigners. Such an appeal may have its effect But, If It fails to stir resentment against him, Greece may yet attack the Bulgarians, If not indeed the Auatro-Gennans. BIG STATE TEAMS PLAYING TODAY WASHINGTON AND CALIFORNIA MEETING ON GRIDIRON TODAY. BOTH-TEAMS CONFIDENT OF VICTORY United Press Service BERKELEY, Nov. 6. The Univer sity of Washington football team, for many years Northwest conference champions, met the University, of Cal ifornia here this afternoon. In view of the 28-to-10 defeat sustained by California at the bands of the Uni versity of Southern California last week, Coble's men went into the game confident of victory. Whether or not the University of Washington will claim the coast col legiate championship if she wins from California' Is not known, but it has been pointed out by many that this would be Inconsistent, in view of the fact that Washington ha not and will not meet any of the Northwest con ference teams this fall. Party will exchange 1300 Victrola, like nw, for piano. Information at Shepherd Piano Depot, next door to postoao. 2-6t You should be interested la life lnawuc.
