STORE, Leading Clothiers mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmwmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mm ii ufc an msibi (Coatlaaec from pact 1) mcrc last Blfht la special session. One of Mr. Hyland's Ideas which will probably be carried out Is the use of pine lumber of this county for tt outdoor exhibit. This exhibit Is to be placed between the Oregon buUdlas proper and the bar, which la bat a short distance and affords a bo view. This will be the only pine on the grounds from Oregon, and Klaaaath county will receWe her due share of adrertlslng In timber In case this plan of Mr. Hyland Is carried oat. A loag strip of parking here will also be used as a resting place for the travelers about the grounds. In speaking to the chamber on Wednesday night. Mr. Highland stated that It was necessary some ac tion bo taken immediately, before ho left the city, so that he would know that this timber would be furnished by Klamath county. Otherwise be would simply bare to get It elsewhere. la his speech he went into details, explaining the system by which the state had been divided up and the general plans of the work as it is being carried on at present. The lo cation of the buildings and exhibits representing Oregon was shown and the general ideas of arrangement were told of by Hyland. In speaking of the benefits to be dtrlred by Oregon, he said that she was in a position to receive mora good than California, who has do nated several times more money than our own state. Oregon's land is with in reach of the ordinary settler and ahe needs tham worse than California whose tillable land Is largely taken up. Mr. Hyland repeated his sugges tion of Klamath's having as part of her exhibit a large relief map show-j Ing the Interesting points In this lo-1 callty, constructed In such a manner) as to show the roads, the proper cl- evation and other Interesting fea-J tures. Furthermore, he said that the com-1 mission was not able to come into this county and get the exhibits, but ' that It was up to the people of each I county and district. The approprla-' tloa of 1175.000 Is much too small I to properly get up the exhibits butt th.-.t the commission is willing to! come half way and appropriate as many dollars as Klamath rounty sees' rtt to give. The following resolutions were drawn up and unanimously adopted by the chamber at Hyland's sugges sugges teon: "Whereas, An opportunity Is pre sented for Klamath county to furnish exhibit timber for the construction of a special building for Oregon's out door life exhibit at the Panama-Pa cific International Exhibition, there-1 fore "Be it Resolved, That the Klam ath Chamber of Commerce heartily endorses the proposition and hereby pledges Its earnest support and co operation In providing these timbers.
