commendations, especially for Fast

should not apply to Lake County,
and that Im the prohibition of killing
of sagehens for a number of years.
They are very plentiful here, and are
not considered by many to be good
eating. The recommendation to In
crease the bounty on cougars and
wild cats from $2 toSjn would be fav
orably received by Lake County. See

The new Oregon Code, compiled
by Judge C. It. Pellinger and W. W.
Cotton. Is in two volumes, and com
prises K0 pages. The general ar
rangement of the Code is practically
the same as Hill's Code of 1!2. Tlie
state does not sell the books, but
the law requires the publishers, Pan
croft, Whit ney & Co., to keep them
on sale for six years at not to exceed
12'erset. The local attorneys of
Lakeview have each received a copy
and the County Clerk will soon re
ceive copies for each of the County
officers and each of the justices of tho
jHUiee of the County.
