UPPER VALLEY WILL BUY ELECTRICITY A new method of rural progress has been launched In the Upper Valley, where an association of orchardists and ranchers have banded together for the wholesale purchase of electric energy from the I'acilic Power & Light Co. The concern has arranged with Max L. Moore, local electrician, for the con struction of nearly four miles of dis tributing lines and wiring of resi dences. The cost of the installation, it is estimated, will reach about $7,000. Italian Arouses Pity In last week's Glncier I read the article written about the Italian who has been living between two trees, on scraps from the garLage dump on th lowlands. What a pity in this Christ ian land of ours, with seven or eight churches in the town of Hood Kiver and all claiming to be followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to a know human being exists in such a manner is a shame. Hut some say. "Oh, he is only dirtv, filthy Italian and who knows maybe he is an escaped convict Even if he is, should peopi kick him on a little farther. The trouble with this world, there is not enough kind ness in it and when a man getB down it is easy enough to kick hirn still far ther. Who is our neighbor? All ma find who our neighbor is by reading the 10th chapter of Luke, 25th to 38th verses. Also Matt. 25: 3446 verses It isn't going to church each Sabbath and going through a lot of form and have a social occasionally to help pay the preacher, that makes a Christian but it is as Jesus says in Luke, 10th chapter. 25th to 38 verses, that makes a Christian. People don't have to rush to this neighbor and carry him around on a cushioned seat, but help him up by helping him to help himself and let him ,feel like he was a human being instead oi a (lotf. Uon't make any difference, it seems. what kind of a character a man has, if he has plenty of money he is usually received with open arms as somebody but a man that is down and out usually is given a kick and driven down still farther. II. L. HOWE. f:S-lf( Citv Recorder. Before I started takine Tanlac I .was so bad off 1 couldn't do a lick of work, but now am back at work and am thirty-three pounds heavier than before and feeling better than I have in twenty years," said R. R. Morris, 1615 Huron street, Portland, Oregon. "Twelve years ago I suffered a gen eral breakdown and 1 got worse and worse each year until finally I had to quit work. I was living in Colorado at the time and after soendini? lots of money on different medicines without getting relief I thought a change of climate was what I needed so I moved to Portland, but instead of getting better I grew worse. I had rheuma tism in my arms and shoulders and the pains would go up my neck into the back of my head, and at times mv wrists gave out completely and I could hardly pick up my hat. My appetite went down to nothing, sometimes I even hated to go to the table and what little I managed to eat did me more harm than good. I lost weight and strength and was so weak 1 felt like there was hardly any life or energy left in me. "Well, by the time I had finished mv second bottle of Tanlac I was eating better, feeling better and picking up in weight right along. Since taking lour bottles 1 have gained thirty-three pounds and feel just like 1 have been made over. The rheumatism has dis appeared altogether and the pains in my neck and head have all gone. Mv big gain in weight shows that I have the finest kind of a appetite, and nothing I eat ever gives me anv trouble at all. 1 am back at work and never miss a day and I give the credit for my health and strength entirely to Tanlac. Tanlac is sold in Hood River bv the Kresse Drug Co. Adv.
