H it t chins, White Salmon resi dent for the pust 11 years and for six years secretary and manager of Um Commercial club there, will move soon to Centralia, where he will become as Fociated with the Western Washington Automolnl" Association. He will take active charge of organizing motoii ts of southwestern Wahington. he stated while here on a visit last week. "My work will lie chiidy in the in terest of good roads and in placing comprehensive road signs," said Mr. Hutchins, "but we are also going to engage in the 'unsigning' of roads. By thi 1 mean that we are going to re move from the rights of way all ad vertising. It will be our purpose to elimiraie all advertUins;, so that every sign the man at t!.e wheel of an auto mobile sees will have a definitt mean ing. I have just completed a trip from White Salmon to Vancouver, thence to Seattle and rjtiri heme by ay of Yakima in the interest of Cleaning up offensive advertisements. I took a lot of photographs, ju.-t to show how ad vertising signs are encroaching tt every Dctnt of scenic vantage. We hope to create such a sentiment that land owners will cease leasing rights of billboards on property ad joining highways. "It will also be our wotk to provide tourists with comprehensive and cor rect maps. We will route the tourist on through our state and Oregon and send him on his way into California. We have a legislative committee that is very active. We figure that this committee in the past two years has saved the automobile owners of our state more than a million dollars in cold cash."
