Fight ing desporatoly with n sheriff's posse until dropped by a bullet Gcorgo Ual low, owner of a stago line, who last night entered the dining room of the South Platte Hotel, nt South Platte. Colo., 20 miles south of here, and shot and seriously wounded Mrs. Charles Wallbrack owner of the hotel and wounded James McWhortcn, a Kansas City tourist, was captured in tho mountains near there shortly be fore noon today and brought here. Ballcw Is seriously wounded. After shooting Mrs. Wallbrack and McWhortcn. Ballow set flro to the hotel and then terrorized tho town for two hours by tiring up and down the streets. Then ho went to tho telegraph office and ordered tho operator not to send out any news of of tho affair under penalty of death.
