New York million aire, a victim of the Titanio diMister, went unafraid to his death. This, in substance, was the tribute paid to tho bravery of the wealthy New Yorker by his wife, Mrs. Made lino Force Astor, who from her sick bed in the Astor mansion here today indignantly denied that Colonel Astor had asked permission to enter the lifeboat in which she escaped. The last vacant sent in the boat, according to Mrs. Astor, was taken by a man who fought his way through the crowd and leaped" into the boat as it was betne: lowered into the sea. This man. she averted, snatched all blankets from the shoulders of shiv ering women and children and sat huddled and cowering in n comer of the bont while frail women rowed.
