As a token of their grati tude at tho king's escape, people from all over Italy are now dally sending large sums to the king and to Queen Helena to bo used by thetn in whatever charitable manney they may choose. In a way this rather unusual man Romans than of a few to be presented in Mcdford on .Monday when "the Al O. Harnes ls Three Ring Wild Ani mal Circus exhibits here. The show will brim; lo this city a veritable zoological paradise on wheels eclips ing beyond comparison any other such similar exhibitions ever offered to the public. The arena has been in uo for pub lie sneetacles nnd amusements from the earlie.-t ages, and its popularity has never dimiui.shed. The great changes, however, which havo taken place have developed it into n civilis cd,intructive spectacle, instead of a performance presented for the pur pose of exciting men's passions. itable work done in Italy by Queen Helena, .who was formerly Princess Helena of Montenegro, nnd nt first was rather coldly recolvod by tho Italians. Since then sho has endear ed herself to the entire nation, not only by her own personal charity work, but by her constant efforts to arouse the rather Indifferent women of tho Roman aristocracy into ac tive efforts in behalf of the poor. The thank offerings now being re ceived amount to from i lire to 10. 000, which the queen Is apportioning out. A MILES CITY, Mont., April IP.
