By n little more than n '2 per cent grade tho Cnsoadc mountnins will he pnoHod from Eaglo Point, nnd with the wonderful developnient in tanner industries nnd fruit growing in the district, thero enn he no question that the tonnngo tributary to Eagle Point will ono day bo equal to that of any town on the Hill system in Oregon. Tona Well Located. Eagle l'oint is particularly well sit uated for residence purposes on the banks of the beautiful Little Butte creek, ono of tho finest streams in the West, nnd in nn ideal location for traffic, Hirao of tho best fruit lands in tlio Roguo River valley being with in a few miles. The fruit world well remembers tho winning of the sweep stake prire by Messrs. Tronson and Guthrie at the Spoknnc apple show of 1009. Well informed fruit men know thnt tho same orchard which pro duced this car had produced equally good fruit each year for five years previously, hud the owners seen fit to place it in competition. Thnt fine orchard is located within two miles of the depot nt Eagle Point, nnd nt any time in tho future cither this or the noted Dr. Coghlan orchard alongside, can be counted on to win n sweep stakes prize in red apples, while the equally famous Dradshnw orchard, about ns far away to the south, can be counted on for a winning car of Newtowns, for wluch it has for so many years been famous. Equally good young orchards of both apples nnd penrs nre to be found on every side of Eagle Point, approaching ma turity. This will be ono of the crcat est fruit shipping stations in Oregon within five years. Many Small Finite. Hot nlono in apples" and pears, but also in peaches, apricots and cher ries, is the section to the front. There is a. quality about the peaches pro duced hero which induces mnny to be set in apple and pear orchards a fillers, . t There is something in the alluvial soil deposited along Little Butte creek especially adnptcd to the grow ing of garden truck in a commercial way. The onions produced here nre in n class by themselves in southern Oregon. The larger towns to the west look to the Eagle Point district for their supplies of berries nnd green stuff during the season from start to finish. The district is particularly well adnptcd to poultry farming as well, and for many years the mining camps and timber districts of north ern California have looked to Eagle Point for their supplies of fresh ranch eggs. Back on the government reserves at the head of Rogue river nnd the two Butto creeks, thousands of cattle range and ure brought down to the Eagle oPint district to get the Unisning touches of grain and alfalfa hay to fit them for market. Manufacturing Sites. Eagle Point is destined to play no small part in tho manufacturing fu ture of tho Rogue River valley, owing to the water power available and to bo transmitted or used direct from the channels of Rogue river and the tributuries above Eagle Point. The marvelous timber belt at the head of these streams, ns yet untouched by the logger, is one of the main factors in tonnngo producing, and is one of tho many rensons why the Hill system has invaded the valley. Box factories, paper nnd pulp mills and wooden ware shops uro among the early re suits to bo expected, nnd after tho timber is logged off, thousnnds of acres of the best fruit lands on earth will bo available to porpetuute the transcontinental tonnage which will distinguish this section. Not tho least of tho attractions of Eaglo Point is the convenience of this locntion for outfitting for the sum mer trip to tho mountnins, and the close proximity to the host hunting nnd fishing in tho state of Oregon. The traveler to Crater lako in his ma chine will find horo the best accom modations in tho valley, and already many mnko it a point to stop at the excellent hotels in Eagle Point, and mnko the rush to tho lake in the ex hilaratiug morning air. Those com ing from tho lako will find it well to thr.p their trips to make Eaglo Point their slopping place for tho night, as Jobs than one hour's time will plnco tho traveler in the heart of tho vnlloy uner nn enrjy breakfast ut tho Eagle Point hotels, llwnk Ktnleinent Good. Tho prosperity of this section is shown conclusively in tho growth of tho Eaglo Ppint bunk, in business but little moro than 0110 year. Watch its next statement.
