However, none of tho fires nro burning In the Crater na tional forest, but are to the north In the territory surrounding Grants Pass. So far the Crater national for est has escaped any considerable blaze. Tho fire which has been burning In tho nlghborhood of Woodruff Meadows, three miles above Prospect, l.ns been brought tinder control. A number of men were sent out last evening by automobiles, but tho blaze was practically under con- sroi when tney reached tne scene, one of tho fires was on Squaw creek, the sip pthor on Palmer creok.
