Gruhbs of,SnvtcUe, Uai.. came in last Monday evening and have remained until today, Thurs day noon, when Mr. Dodge returned to Ashland, but Mr. Grubbs expects to remain until tho first ot next week-. Wheeler nnd his family of Ashland passed through Jacksonville Wednesday, en route to Crescent City. Hollis Parks, Willurd and Iiov Garrett were over from Applcgate Thursday. Judge Prim and his family hao gone to the Blue canyon, to rusticate for several weeks. District Attorney Mulkey and his family will probably leave for the same locality soon. George II. Merritt journeyed to Med ford Thursday afternoon. Loren Gregory, Miss Blanche Col lins and several of their friends were over from Table Hock Wednesday. The two first named were parties to a ceremony quite interesting to both. Von der Hellen brothers spent a short time in Jacksonville Friday morning. Miss Abbie Henry is lying danger ously ill with spinal meningitis at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Hart-1 ley of Talent precinct. I R. II. Lewis of Upper Rogue river, was in Jacksonville Wednesday trad ing with our merchnnts. Sheriff and Mrs. W. A. Jones re turned Sunday from Indiana, whence Wilbur was called officially. Thev experienced some of the hot weather which broke the record in the eat and middle west this season. Dave Newbury is making a full harvest hand at the Jones farm near Medford. J. W. Myers of Central Point, coun ty fruit inspector was at the county seat on official business recently. H. Walter was over from Humbug during the -week. P. S. Steenstrup, dealer in auto supplies, has gone to New York, on a short business trip. Mrs. Minnie Kelly and Miss Flora Thompson are making Klamath FulU a tisit. Mr. and Mrs. II. Luy, Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Collins, Mrs. E. Cook and Mr. B. Khun were members of a party who picnicked on Applegate Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Coleman of Phoenix spent Sunday with relatives living in Jacksonville. Mrs. L.
