The city owns several lots there and for bovcrnl years the grounds have been n catch-all for the city water system. This is all now being changed. The grounds are being leveled off for convenience in handling new material ni)d the plnee generally is beginning to tako on an appearance in keep ing with the slogau, "Medford, the City Beautiful." But while nil these improvements nro going on tlio old well, fully AO feet deep and 'JO or more feet across nnd filled nearly to overflowing with Bear creek water, is still in evidence A hole in tho ground to tho memory of Mcdford's outgrown water system. As there cannot bo any possible chance for this well to ever again be of use to the city it will bo filled up. Thoro arc sure enough germs lurking around that old hole in the ground well bcinc of the community. Now that the MoNamnm imo is ac tually set for trial, the attorneys f-ir tho defense of the accused union men today settled down to earnest woik in preparation for the log;! batt'c They miv that to get the tus-- ready for October 10, will require the hard est and most pirsisle.nt endeavor. Not only will the f000 pages of tho transcript of evidence have to be gone through and classified, but trips will have to be made all over the country, to Chicago, to Indiana, to Wisconsin, to San FrnuviKCo and lo many other points where differ ent phases of the case lead and inan witnesses summoned. A soft, pliant scalp means luxuriant hair, aud to have it it is necessary for tho scalp to con tain the right amount of oil to prop erly nourish the hair follicles. "Dry shampooing invigorates (he M-alp and huir roots, keeps out dan druff and excess oil, and promote growth of fine, glossy and fluffy huir. "An excellent dry shampoo powder can be made at homo by mixing four ounces of orris root with four ounces of thcrox.
