The Fourth of July was gaily Hpent at tho Meadows, about 200 peo ple attended and a good old fashion ed country picnic was enjoyed' by all. Dancing was Indulged In afternoon nnd evening, foot races and other sports and recitations entitled "Sign ing Dpclaratlon of Independence" nnd "Tho Jealous Wife" both being well rendered. A flag drill by a half dozen young ladles was very Interest ing. F. Mayfleld acted as master of ceremonies and a better ono could not have been selected. A big dinner and supper. Ice cream and candles and lemonade were part of program enjoyed by all.
