Over two hundred of the socially prominent ones of the city nnd. valley gathered at tlie club grounds and throughout thu af ternoon enjoyed themselves The now country club is ti credit to Medford and to the Iiugue- River Valley. Nearly one hundred lovers of an outdoor life have joined to gether to give Medford the finest club of its kind to be found in tile state. An ideal locatioti was foudd on the foothills overlooking the city and there was buildrd a club house on a site commanding the entire val ley. Tennis courts, a golf couro and traps were provided and all tliet were the scenes of interesting- con tests Friday the opening day. The club house which has been splendid fitted np warf the ceno of an informal roceptinu during the af ternoon. The large rod garden wli- crowded with ladies who could tut and watch the different sorting con tests or look away across the val ley n magnificent view. As the au tomobiles drove uu and the e:iie.-,ts arrived they were shown through the jetub house and about the ground an had the many advantages of tlie club pointed out to them.
