"Throughout Scott's valley," states Mr. Heard, "1 found 'but one ranch for sale. AH of tho fanners are making much money from dairying and the growing of grain and vege tables. The valley, as largo as this. is very prosperous, and is dotted with fine homes. "I believe that should more atten tion be paid to the growing of small stuff and to poultry, dairying and tho like that the Hogue River valley would bo far more prosperous. We can learn a great lesson from north ern California." Mr. Heard was accompanied by Mrs. Heard and hi daughter, Miss Gladys. After the Fats and l4enn play five innings a team will be picked to play the regulars who will loan the new team a battery and will make five outs to retire the side.
