Haskins for Health,' PORTLAND. -June 20.- for the week have been 1750, calves 248, hogs 2.71, aheep 0808, horses and mules til llest steers o nthe market this week xold for Clf). Quite a bunch ot light toppy California steers brought this price. The majority f receipts in the cattle line have been of very mediocre quality and prices ranged accordingly from 5 to 5:75. One feature ot the week's trading was the strength of the veal market Receipts in this line were heavier than for some time past. One bunch of extra good Muff brought $7.50, while another lot. of 45 head not quite so fat brought $7.00. Heavier Calves range from 5 to fie. Top cows .lire quoted from 5 to 5:25 with very few of that, quality offering. Tho hog division continues to oe cupay the center of the singe, week marked by tin advance of 10c on light hogs and about a quarter on heavier stuff, making tops respec tively $7.10 and $0.40. Demand for swine is on the increase and local dealers aro prophesying a sternly advance in prices during the hot mouths of July and August when it is very hard to muko eastemn ship ments. Receipts in mutton remain heavy and prices have declined at least a quarter on lieuvior grades while top lambs aro now quoted at .5.85 us the extreme top for choice Bluff. As leeders and buycre alike have pre dicted this declina for some time no surprise is occasioned by this slump wineus uuo to come us a seasonal condition. Several enrs of horses, have been received throughout the week and prices continue steady to strong on drafters and driving horses of qual ity. TO CUKE A CO&Z) ZM OWB SAT.
