The Knst Main street trench was the most difficult to dig of any yd excavated in Medford, being in sand stone bedrock. Contractor Bade claims that he lost $1500 on lite con tract. New air compressor drills arc be ing used in constructing tho trench for the Queen Ann sower and water mains, where bedrock is encountered. YOUNGSTERS PROBABLY WILL BE PAROLLED Tho local markets continue to be steady and with the exception of n few articles the prices remain about the same. Eggs are n little higher, selling for 27'. cents n dozen while dressed hens arc lower selling for 'JO cents. Strawberries arr soiling two boxes for a quarter. The Culi fomia berries nro not ns plentiful most of tho supply coming from Roscburg and Albany. Ashland will furnish berries after the canivnl is over.
