Wil liam Howard Taft, president of the United States, and Theodore Roose velt, his predecessor, joined with the civic authorities of Baltimore today to pay honor to James, Cardinal Gib bons. The occasion of the celebra tion was the fiOth anniversary of the ordination of Gibbons as a priest and the 2oth anniversary of his elevation to the cnrdinalnle. Hundreds of prominent men joined in the city's tribute to tho cardinal, among them being Chief Justice White of the United States supremo court, James Scboolscraft Sherman, vice president of the United tSates und Governor Crothers of Maryland.
