E. church met in weekly session Wednesday nfternuon, thirty-eight in attendance. The scene presented re minded one of an old fushioned sew ing bee with its social ehnt, good hu man and busy fingers. Owing to her domoval to the county and eon sigmeut inability to attend the meet ing regularly, Mrs. .). II. Carkin ten dered her resignation as vice presi dent to the socity, which was ac cepted and Mrs. Steep elected to the office. The business of the society has grown to the extent that three vice presidents are necessary to tnko charge o ft he various departments of work and those will soon be in stalled and duly assigned. On next Wednesday, March 212nd there will be an all day session in the basement of the church. Lunch will be fur nished by the Indies, each lady bringing her own and sufficient for her own invited guests. All are earn estly requested to come early and each committee be on hand ready for the final preparations for the Easter sale which will lake place on Wed nesday, April .'ith. There is much to be done and the nsirtance of all is needed to make it a success. All having aprons, bags, fancy work for the sale. Please report next Wednesday so that each department can know just what is needed. All who wore absent oil Wednesday misled a treat in the beautiful les son led by Mrs. llines in which the appropriate grace of charity perfor mance, in taught and all seemed lo feel the iupress of the dime spirit. After which the society adjourned feeling it was good to havo been there. Mrs. Scott ami Mrs. Orr entertain ed most, delightfully Wednesday aft ernoon In compliment to Mrs. 0111, who loft for her home In Winnipeg, last week. The scheme of decoration was In green and whito, In honor of St. Pat rick's day, and oven to the smallest detail the same Idea was carried out. To further enrry out the scheme, Mrs. Davis was daintily gowned In green nnd Mrs. Orr In whlto. Green and white carnations were used for dec oration, and In the dainty refresh ments which wore served the sand wlchos woro out In the- shape of sham rocks, the salad was In shamrock shnpo and each guest had a shamrock In hor Ico cream. Five hundred was played and the first prize was won by Mrs. Purdln, n handsome cut glass dish; the sec ond by Mrs. McGowan, an olive fork. Miss WeekB won tho booby, a small wash boiler. Tho guests were: Mesdames Gill, Ralph Woodford, Nicholson, Butler, Lumsden, Watt, Hargravo, Antlo, Houck, Purdln, O'Drien, Shearer, El wood, Ed Trowbridge, Piatt, Holmes, McGowan. Kldd, John Butler, Goble, York, Perry, Hamilton, Barneburg, Pottongor, Misses Snodlcor, Weeks and Hasklns. An informal reception was given to the students of the Medford Conser vatory Inst Thursday afternoon at I the Natatorium vocal and instninieii-i tal numbers were rendered by soinei of the pupils, but no regular program was arranged in advance. The ob ject of the reception was to bring the students together socially, to got acquainted and to get used to sing or play before others without special preparation. The next term will begin' March 27th. Mrs. Ed Trowbridge and Mi- I O'Brien were hostesses at a very1 pretty party given at the home c - Mrs. Trowbridge Tuesday afternoon. The affair was in honor of Mrs. Gill, of Winnipeg. Pink carnations and ferns were used in abundance for dec-i oration. The afternoon was spent playing 500, Mrs. Ilouek winning fimt prize, a handsome cut glass nnpp, ;! Miss Fanny Ilaskins second, a pret-, ty vase, and Mrs. Elwood carried off, a finger bowl as consolation. Deli, j cious refreshments were served. Spring flowers were used for decoration in the rooms and the pretty homo vns most attrac tive. After tho gam delicious re freshments were served. Johnston of "Bon nie View" orchard was given quite n surprise last week, when sovoral or his neighbors came In and plowed his 10-acro orchard for him. Mr. Johnston was Injured that Au gust, by a load of grnvct passing over his leg, fracturing tt so badly that ho Is unable to got about without tho aid of crutches, and his kind neigh bors took this means of helping him out. Among those contributing wore: .Messrs. Isaac Woolf, Louis Knlpu, Boy Howard, Hlley Morrison, Au gust Saroronttz, Will Howard, D. D. Duff, Claud Schilling and Will Knlps. The monthly social of the Ladies aid of the Baptist church was hold at tho home of Mrs. Harry Tttttlo Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Tuttle, as sisted by Mrs. H. W. Stearnes and Mrs. F. W. Mears received, and Miss Lorain Lnwton nnd Miss Ethel Gray assisted in the dining room. Tho house was most attractive, daffodils boing used for decoration. The ef fect in the dining room being unusu ally harmonious, as tho whole scheme, was yellow. Tho dining tablo had a beautiful clnny centerpiece a'nd hand some candelabra. About 70 ladies woro presont and tho affair was a great success. Mr. Tailandier gave an informal reception to the students of tho Med ford conservatory Thursday after noon at tho Nntntorium. Mr. and Mrs. Boynton ontertnined at dinner Friday night at the Nash. Their guests were the Misses Cox and their guest was Mrs. Snyder.
