This City After Seeing the Plans for the Structure. "The plans for the now hospital which is to be erected in tills city by the Sisters of Providence Is a hand some Btructure, roomy, nlry and mod ern in ovory respect," Btates Dr. E. Barton Pickel of this city, who has just returned from Portland, where he attended a session of tlio state board of health, of which body ho Is a member. Dr. Pickel saw the plans while In Portland and Is well pleased with the typo of building the sisters are planning to erect In this city at a cost of 90,000. "I was most agreebaly Impressed by the plans," continued the doctor, "and I feel that tho sisters Intend to give Medford the finest institution of its kind to be found in tho state out side of Portland. Tho plans nre am bitious and the new hospital will in deed by a beauty. It will bo a credit to the city! "The plans have- not yet boon com pleted, but tho general nature of the buildings can bo seen. The plans have yet to be sent toaMontrnoal for the approval of the head of tho or ganization and then they will bo sent to Medford and the wor'k of erection undertaken." Dr. Pickel states that tho state board of health Intends to enlarge their work In the state materially this year. This was made posslblo by tho Increased appropriation given tho board for Us work by tho recent legislature.
