In nn endeavor to have the mat ter of putting u, street through along side of tho Jnckfion street school ground, u deputation consisting of a number of members ot tho school board wailed on the city council yes tordny. From the arguments ad vanced, it was Bliown that tho prop erty in question, now held by the school board fr fi playground, had been dedicated to the city originally nnd then turned over to the school board, and because of the fact tiint the ground hnd so far cost the school board prncticnlly nothing, some of the members of the council woro ngainst any riding by which tho school board should profit finnn cinlly by turning ovor sufficient property to nllow a street to bo put through. The board muiutnius that the placing of a street there is of no benefit to tho school property and, on the other liuud, if anything is a detriment.
