Magazine publishers' here today declared that tho proposed advance In postal rates affecting magazine advertising sec tions was fostered by tho "IntoroBts," which seek to control muckraking publications. A repre sentative of McClure's .Magazine Bald: "An Increase of four cents per pound for mailing advertising sec tions would cost McClure's $92,800 additional annually. Our profits, at best, are not large, and tho result of tho proposed law would bo a loss of circulation and standing. If tho bill Is enacted It will Infliienco McCluro's and similar publications to suspend."
