Democratic threats to Impeach Gov ernor Glasscock, the- republican ex ecutive of this state, through his coti nenction with the United States sen atorial tangle, fell to to the ground today, when an agreement was reach ed between the warring parties which probably will permit of the formal election of Watson and Chilton to tho United States seuate. Fifteen re publican stato senators fled to Cin cinnati to provont tho organization of the legislature, but they were in duced to return by an agreement be tween Glasscock and Chilton that tho president of tho senate should be republican. When they returned tho republicans In tho stato failed to vote and, though Chilton and Wat son were elected, Glasscock refused to issue their credentials, threatenlnc to call out the militia to enforce his orders If Impeachment proceedings wore attempted. Tho mixup was apparently ended today when tho Cincinnati bargain was reaffirmed. TO INVESTIGATE ABUSE HEAPED ON JUROR WHEELING, W. Va., Jan. 28. Before Judge Jordan today Prosecu tor Iliuullnn protested against the abuse .showered upon Juror Isiim' Iloymun for his refusal to acquit in the Scltenk ease. Ilandlin urged that the court punish those who have been denouncing Heyinan, and Judge Jordan promised to investigate. Navy Bill Passed. WASHINGTON, D. C. , Jan. 28. A provision repealing tho eight-hour law restriction on naval contracts was included in tho naval appropria tion bill, reported to the houso this afternoon. Tho bill carries with It an appropriation of 134,000,000 for naval increases In 1912, which means tho continuation of tho policy of building two battleships annually. Mrs. J. E. Dr. Roberts h.is a good dental practice in Myrllo creek and hits acquired some good property at that place. The old Henry Bnley house in North Talent is being torn down bv George Chandler nnd will be built upon one of his lots in Medford. Mrs. W. Z. Rinehart of KlmnnUi Falls is visiting her sister, Mrs. J. E. Roberts of North Talent, this week. The many friends of C. E. Hous ton, of Phoenix, will regret to bear that he is in a critienl condition, tu berculosis of the glands of the neck being bis ailment. George Eads. nenhow of Mrs. II. F. French of North Talent, and bis wife, and family, arrived last Tues day. Mrs. Eads will vHt with Mrs. French while Mr. Eads goes to Mex ico to look at the' country.
