Wal ter Scott Williams, 78, oneo com missioner in San Francisco for BmI ish Columbia nnd several of the eastern Canadian provinces, is dead here today. Williams, nt ono time was mayor of Nnpnnoo, Out. He came to Cnlfornia m loofl. The brick nnd tile factory of the Gold Kay Granite company, Is locat ed on the main lino of the Southern Pacific railroad at Tolo, Oro. It Is a modern, up to dato plant, for the manufacture of both common and pressed brick. The machinery Is made by the American Clay Machin ery company of Bucyrus, Ohio. The capacity of the plant is 20,000 brick, and 50,000 tile per day. There Is an electric railway, ono mile In length used In connection with the plant for conveying the clay. The product Is equal to the best brick and tile made anywhere and is being shipped all over the state. From 3Q to 50 men are employed. The biick and tile, as thoy are made, are tecclved on a transmission belt, which convoys tne manufactured product to tne cars, which when loaded, are run Into a dryei', from whence they nio moved on tho sumo car and placed In a kiln for burning.
