Before the city ean become a .jobbing center and realize its destiny as a distributive point there must be a change in the present system of rates. Hearings now in xn'ogrcss before the state railroad commission are for tho purpose of securing lower rates, but more especially to secure a greater ratio of difference between carload rates and less than carload rates than at present obtains.
