Stnythe of tho Methodist Episcopal church at Ridgefield, who wns badly beaten several days ago by Mre. C. N. Laue, the mother of Smytho's finncec, is reported to bo much better today. The beating took place after a church meeting Friday, when Mrs. Laue alleged Smytho hnd not treated Miss Laue properly.
