COUNTY DEBT !!80 Increase of Nearly $100,000 Made In YearSpent on Improve ment of High ways. Jackson county owes $107,030.7" in outstanding warrants, an increase of a little over $80,000 of tho war rant indebtedness of a year ago. For a county of the wealth and re sources of Jackson county, this sum is small, indeed. To counterbalance the increase the county has assets in the way of new bridges, new roads and other improvements which cott money, but can always bo regarded as permanent assets for the commu nity. Tho county has expended betwiun $13,000 and $14,000 in a bridge across Rogue River at Woodville, the expenditure will more than repay it self in the increaso of value of tho property owned by tho citizens, for whoso convenience tho bridge was built, and tho increaso of population brought about by the added easo pro vided by the bridgo for getting tho products of the farms to market. The county has also expended $15,000 iu securing a present own ership book, modeled on tho best of modern lines in this respect, and that is also a permanent asset. Tho county has now a modern poor farm, practically self-sustaining, several gotod stretches of road and more coming, and altogether the expenditure either is or will bring good results. Probate.
