STANFIELD 74, WESTON-McEWEN 26 — At Stanfield, the Tigers slogged their way to a big win in Columbia Basin Conference play with 428 rushing yards and 10 total touch- downs on Friday. Three Stanfield (6-0, 2-0 CBC) rushers topped the century mark led by Thyler Monkus with 105 yards on 10 carries and four touchdowns. Adrian Renner added a pair of scores with 106 yards on five rushes, and Dylan Grogan powered for 150 yards on 10 totes and added one touchdown. Grogan also passed for 176 yards and three touchdowns. “Kind of some nasty field out there today, but they were able to keep their feet and get into the end zone, slow and steady,” said Stanfield coach Davy Salas. “Everybody’s running the ball hard, the line’s blocking good and HERMISTONHERALD.COM • A9 SPORTS we’re trying to keep everybody healthy because we’re short on numbers, so we’re getting every- body carries.” The TigerScots (1-5, 0-2) finished with 369 yards on offense and saw quarterback Brett Speed return from concussion protocol to throw three touchdowns, but also a pair of picks. “Our offense played pretty well. IRRIGON 3, RIVERSIDE 1 — At Irrigon, Mya Chapman led the Knights in kills and assists as a shorthanded Irrigon squad won its Eastern Oregon League match in four sets on Thursday 25-19, 25-13, 19-25, 25-15. Chapman inished with 11 kills and 22 assists, and Emma Combes added 10 kills, 10 digs and 14 assists. Brianna Rice chipped in four blocks and nine digs for Irrigon (14-10, 3-3 EOL). No statistics were available for Riverside (3-15, 1-6).
