Matlock and the Liberty Meat Market which has ben run by Mr. Matlock for the past 15 months was closed up. Wherrv having attached the Bame on a claim for wasps due. The case will doubtless be settled out of court. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Morrow accom- paned by their children, Miss Hazel and Master Jack, came no from Fort- land Thursday and spent Decoration Day io Heppner. Mr. Morrow was well pleased with the appearance of Heppner and surrounding country at this time and feels that we have promise of a very prosperous year. Fossil's star ball team lowered the colors of Heppner at Heppner last Sunday with a 6 to 8 score. The ball boys lay the Heppner people showed them the time of their lives, and so also say the band of Elks who went over to attend a big initiation of Elks that took place Saturday night. Henpner team will be over to Fossil soon to play a return game, when it will behoove us to as far as possible reciprocate their good treatment of at this office, the following tract of . our players.
