Aurora, situated just half way be tween Portland and Salem on the Pacific Highway, and on the main line o f the Southern Pacific R. R. to Cali fornia,. There is no town in the'en tire state, using it as a point that a like radius will include, so much, o f the good and valuable o f the state. A 25 mile radius will takfi in Salem, Portland, Oregon City, Woodburn and a number o f smaller towns and vast areas o f fertile farms, o f berries, fruits, com , potatoes, onions, garden produce, wheat, clover seed and hay, hops, sheep herds,and swine herds, o f b'ooded cows and last but not least this circle includes vast manufactur ing plants o f lumber, pulp plants and wolen mills. In fact with the ex ception o f iron and coal this most blessed area could all but exist in its present state without the importation o f any article. From Canada and Washington on the north and Mexico and California on the south Aurora can not be well overlooked or avoided.
