His brother, John Gillie, may not ac company him home, but instead may return to South Africa. Mayor Plamondon has postponed loaning up days in Athena to Wed nesday and Thursday April 10 and 11. It is thought that by putting the cloaning days off unil those dates, the weather- will have settled so that rub bish and debris may be raked up and burned. The missionary meeting at the Bap tist churoh Sunday evening was well attended and created much in terest.' The collection amounted to $7 and the ladies think they will turn the meeting over to the men quite often in the future. The M. E. con gregation attended, there being no ser vice in their church that evening. William McGibbon, for many years a resident of Weston and a well known citizen of Umatilla county, was killed at bis home near Wallula Wednesday night by a kick from a horse. Mo Gibbon was in a corral among a num ber of wild horses and was kicked in the head, aud died instantly. He leaves a wife and three children. He was a relative of the Walker and Still families, well known in this neighborhood. F. S. LeGrow, cashier of the First National Bank, was seriously injured Sunday, by his horse falling with him, while riding on his Toucbet ranch. Mr. LeGrow went to Walla Walla, where his surgeon found that his shoul der was dislooated and his left collar bono was fractured. Mrs. LeGrow drove over to Walla Walla yesterday morning. Mr. . LeGrow ' is getting along as well as could be expected but it will perhaps be several days be fore he is able to return borne. ' J. M Banister one of Weston's best known farmers, has finally concluded to part with tbe old Buffalo Pitts sep arator he has used profltablly for 7 consecutive seasons, says tbe Leader. Mr. Banister has just ordered a com bined harvester of the pattern design ed by Alex McRae, well known throughout Umatilla county for bie work as an inventor. Before being shipped to Mr. Banister, who expeots it about July 1st, this machine will be remodeled at the Spokane factory along tbe lines of the particular Mo Rae combine which the inventor him self successfully operated last season. sHenry and Everet. aged 7 and 5 re spectively, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Knight of this city, became lost yes terday and caused much anxiety and worry until news reaohed ' town, last night, that they were at the Hailey place, H miles west of Athena. Ed Knight went down after the little fellows and brought them home. They explained their long absence by saying that they were coming home all the while. The oldest boy pushed a bioyola wheel ' the enthe distance and a faithful dog accompanied the pair on their pilgrimage-Z'The sup position is that while playing on tbe railroad track below town they start ed for home and topb the opposite idireotion. The younger one became tired, toward tbe end cf the journey and sat down frequently to rest.
