A temperance rally at the Christian church last evening attraoted a large audieuoe. The chief address of the evening was made by F. E. Bilington, who was followed by Rev. Phillips from the Evangelioal church in Port land, a prominent temperanoe worker. Rev. D. G. Curry of the M. E. church, made the closing address, all being received with enthusiasm by the au dieuoe. Good musio was furnished by the combined choirs of the oity. Last evening a party of about twen ty five youug people, headed by Miss Josie Danner, weut to the residence of Robert Tharp, where a tin shower was given Miss Fauuie Tharp, amid the musio of oake pans, pie pans, tin pans of every dosoriptiou. On tomonow eveuing Miss Tharp becomes the bride of Mr. Doau Gerking, the ceremony being performed iu the Christian church. The evening was passed iu sociability, fun boiug the spirit of the occasion.
