Baker but exuects to leave for The Dalles in a short time to work during the winter, returning here in the spring to look after his real estate. A. J. Johnson, president of the Benton County National Bank, and one of the heavy stockholders of the First National Bank of this city, was here from his home at Corvallis this week attending a meeting of the stockholders of the home concern. This was his first visit for three years and he sees consideradle change in the town as well as noting advance ment in the development of the county. Weit tenhillcr in a big area of farm land in this Valley, came in last Saturday and has been visiting (with Mr. Weittenillerand looking after his business interests since. Mr. Allen is pleased with the ad vancement in development since his last visit to this section and feels he has some good invest ments in this big country. Men of his character, with capital and faith, are the kind that are going to make this big section respond to development and bring about the change so much desired in the way of attracting others to farm.
