The was one of the most enjoyable and interesting ever rendered in the history of the school. The house was packed with a very appretiative audience and each member of the graduating class did themselves, the faculty and the school great credit. The part taken by the class is given in connection with their pictures on the first page of this issue. The Times-Herald has not the space to devotea particular men- Freshmen girls have devoted their time to hand sewing and the making of underwear, and had a very creditable array of garments. The advance sale of seats is an indication of the appreciation shown the distin guished tenor. Mr. Keed spent 15 years abroad and has taken the title rolls in :!.'! (.rnnd Operas and numerous oratorios besides a number of concerts in Knglund and Germany. Ha has been in Portland during the past winter as soloist in both the Apollo and Orpheus Clubs. Program be gins at H.:to. Public School Closes. The public school ot this city closed a very profitable and sat isfactory year yesterday. Many expressed their high appreciation of the sermon directly to Dr. Benson that evening and others stab d it was the best sermon of tin character they had ever heaid. On Thursday evening the alumni held its annual gathering in the High School building, en tertaining the graduating class and faculty. A large number of former graduates of the scl I were present and the gradual. of this year were "duly initiated" Refreshments were served daring the evening. The High School has advanced in a marked way during the past year and the faculty and all in terested in the school are very much encouraged. It has been a moat satisfactory year, the pupils having shown marked in- teres t in the work and un are enthusiastic. It ia Interesting to note in this respect that there were .'. an rolled in the school for the year and the average attendance was 98.7 for the entire year and 4!i of ths number finished the work. Another matter that will add to ths school ia the plans now being worked out for short courses for the coming year for the benefit day. This week they suggest a The high school ball team re turned from Prineville Sunday evening and report better luck I ban on the home diamond. The three ssjnsi played at Prinvilli were better exhibitions and our team seemed much better than in the contest the previous week. Prineville took the first game the score being lb' to 8; the sec ond game was a fine contest, there being 13 innings played. I hi more was tied 3 to .1 up to that inning and Burns made a run in the first half but Prine ville run in two, thus winning. The Clyde Gibbons Haw mill on Silver Creek, formerly the Frank Dibble mill, was burned Sunday, a quantity of lumber was destroy ed together with the mill and part of the machinery damaged. Mr. Gibbons states the loss is in the neighborhood of $2000 with no insurance. He is undecided as to whether he will rebuild at present or not. Tonawama tomorrow night.
