Will sell at reasonable prices at my place 9 miles east of Burns- John Back. Michael Schenk has disposed of his interests in the furnishing and tailoring business to A. W. Znerlmann and will leave today for outside points. The name of the establishment will be Will-iams-Zoglmann Clothing Com pany. Mr. Schenk came here direct from the old country a few years ago and has since been identified with the business which he has just disposed of. He is a very industrious young man with an ambition to make good at his work. He has made many friends here and they all wish him well. He goes to Portland for the present but contemplates going to Corvallis where he may engage in business. Vickers were here from Denie during the week attending to some business and visiting friends, Mr. McAllister contem plates leaving in tho near future for tho east where ho will take up his residence. McKinney, who was in Portland and accom panied them to Bend on the train and brought them in from there in liia auto. Mr. Gault met hia wifo and little sons, who had spent the vacation period in tho east, at Spokane. After a weeks visit there tnoy went lo Tacoma where they wero guests of Mr. Gault's brother for n timo, later going to Seattle then to Portland. They visited tho stato fair at Salem nnd other up valley polnlp. Mr. Gault went out by way of Vale and had a talk with Con atruction Engineer Osborn of tho Short Lino. Ho states tho rail road work toward this valley is Erogressing as rapidly aa posai ie, they aro handicapped for lack of laboreis and Mr. Osborn fears it will bo hard to keep a largo force on tho work during tho winter months. Ho found financial conditions quite firm and satisfactory.
