Yet, we are Importing that article of diet, says the McMinnville Reporter. A gentle man who travels over the country a great deal was visiting at a farm house a few days ago. The farmer was making somo sauor kraut for home use. Several tons of fine cabbage were growing in the garden upon which the hogs were soon to bo turned The farmer was asked why he did not make sauor kraut for the home market. He replied that he could not sell it if he made it. When the gentle man arrived at the next town he asked the groeeryman whore he bought his sauer kraut, and at what price. "Portland; 40 cents a gallon," was the reply. There is a moral in this. For the merchant, the moral is: "Pntronizo home industry." For the farmer: "Sell water and sunshine." A plan is on foot for the shipmentof a carload of apples from Benton county to Defiance, Ohio, where apples are scarce. The car will also carry 3,000 pounds of dried prunes. Cured Consumption. Mis. B. W. Evans, Clearwater, Kans., writes: My husband lay sick for three months. The doctors said that he had quick consumption. We procured a bottle of Ballard's Horehound Syrup, and it cured him. That was six years ago, since then we have always kept a bottle in the house. We cannot do without it. For coughs and colds it has no equal." 25c, 50c and if I. Sold by Wilson Drug Co. Citation.
