A fair-sized crowd attended the "Peak Sisters" entertainment given by the young women of the Methodist church Wednesday evening.. The performance was put on at Falls City last night. Senator Loughary has introduced a bill to appropriate $17,500 a year for the support of the Oregon State Normal School at Monmouth. The school now gets $12,500 a year. Warren Cressy, a prominent mer chant of South Bend, Wash., attended the funeral of his uncle, W. G. Cressy, at Independence, Tuesday. He came to Dallas in the evening and left for Portland on the early train Wednes day morning. He was accompanied on the homeward journey by his business partner, E. E. Paddock, of Independence. Dallas Camp, No, 209, Woodmen of the World, held one pf the most en joyable meetings in the history of the camp last night. Several candidates were initiated, and refreshments and cigars were enjoyed until a late hour, A number of visitors from Portland were present, including some ef the most prominent officers of the Mult nomah camps. These were duly in itiatcd into the Sons of Dryads (the side degree) after the close of the camp. The eyening was a merry one for the "choppers."
