Miss Nora Van Fleet, Fred Arnold and Blune Jackson entered bcIiooI this week. We received some desks from Prof. Day's room the first of the week. Mack Evins visited room No. 4 Tues day. Miss Mae Mnthiew of Goihen visited our school Monday. Miss Greta Bristow was out of school the first of the week on account of sick ness. DIVIDE ITEMS. Mr. Edricks tho track walker here is putting up a house for, himself and family. John Hull was up this way last Sun day. Mrs. Will Coffin has gone to visit her mother near Albany. Seth Rowe and wife, Harvey Taylor and wife have left this neighborhood for other pa ts. Mr Kennedo and Mr Miller of Siuslaw have taken their places Mr Miller renting Ike Taylor's farm. Everybody gathering their fall crops Screech owls made the woods ring a week ago last Sunday. School is progressing well. Anon . In the geography examination most of the class were successful. Some of the scholars of our room made great improvemeuts in the room in the way of washing windows and desks and blacking the stove Saturday. Other im provements, will be made later. One month of our valuable term has gone by and the deportment of the high school is very good, Tho high school was welcomed by two new students Monday morning who proved to be Miss Crettie Dutton and Mr. Ante.
