A sim ilar request has been made to all the m ayors of the larger cities in the Tw elfth Fede ral Reserve District. General giving of W ar Savings Stam ps and T reasury Savings Certifi cates as C hristm as presents the Gov ernm ent feels would do much tow ard bringing prices of necessities back to a normal level by cutting the demand for luxuries, and would help to sta bilise the financial situation, besides startin g many of th e recipients of such presents along the road of sav ing and th rift.
