JM intirkv How Young Abe Lincoln Danced- General Singleton of Qnincy, I1L, who was one of the bright young law yers of Spriugfield. when Abraham Lincoln was n green youth there, tells this story, -which we believe has never been printed before. The bevy of bright young ladies to -which Miss Todd belonged before her marriage to Mr. Lincoln used to have a good deal of sport at this tiwk ward young man's expense. One evening at n little parly Mr. Lincoln approached Miss Todd and said in his peculiar idiem: "Miss Todd, I should like to dance with you the worst xray." The young lady accepted the inevit able and hobbled around the room with him. "When Miss Todd had re turned to her seat, orne of her mis chievous companions said: "Well. Mary, did he dance with you the worst way?" "Yes," she answered "tho very worst." La Grande, has never levied a city tax of any kind and has no indebted ness. The expenses of the municiplity are paid by funds derived from li censing nine liquor saloons at $400 each, and the citizens are anti-prohibition. BETTER THAIST GOLD. RESTORED HER HEALTH.
