PR.PRIGE DEIICIODS flAVORlN EXTRACTS WASHINGTON ELECTION. EepublicansMakea Glean Sweep There. The Constitution Carried by a Bis Vote. Spokane Falls reports 300 to 400 Republican majority. A large ma jority is given, too, for the constitu tion. In Clarke county bo far tbe Republican state ticket is elected two to one. Pierce county gives the Re publican state ticket a large majority. The Republicans carry everything in the county. Thurston county gives the constitution over 1,000 majority. The Republican majority on the whole ticket in Tifurston is 450. Lewis gives a Btrong majority for tho constitution and the Republican state tioket, and elects the whole Republi can county ticket So far as heard from the vote against prohibition or woman suffrage is two or three to one. It is claimed at the headquar ters of the Republican state central committee that the constitution will have 20,000 majority and the Repub lican state ticket 8,000 to 10,000 ma jority and that the Democrats will not elect more than twenty members of the legislature out of 105. All places so far aslieard from report an enormous inorease'of the total vote. In Spokane county the estimated majority on the Republican state tioket is eight hundred. In Walla Walla county 920 votes are counted, giving a Republican ma jority of 214. The whole Republican legislative ticket ia elected. At Republican headquarters it is olaimed that the state tioket ia elect ed by at least 10,000 majority; and it is considered doubtful whether the Democrats have elected ten members of the 'legislature out of 105 in all. The majority-forlhe constitution can scarcely be estimated, but will be very large. Indications are that the majorities against woman suffrage and prohibition will be very heavy. The Olympians are jubilant over the vote this town has received for the state capital, but it ia hardly proba ble that it has obtained an absolute majority. THE RESULT IN MONTANA. Helena, Mont, Oct 1. The elec tion passed off quietly, only one ar rest being made for interference at the polls. Both parties unite in de claring the Australian system a suc cess. The law limits the voter to five minutes in the voting booth, but this feature was not observed, fully fifteen minutes being required in some cases. In some precincts the average time was eight minutes, the general av erage in this city being five minutes. The Democrats claim the election of their state and congressional tioket, but leave the legislature in doubt; Republicans have made no figures on the legislature, but claim the elec tion of Carter to congress by a small majority, but generally concede the election of Toole, Democratic can didate for governor, with tbe balance of the state tioket in doubt. Ex governor Leslie, Democrat, says: "We have got them, without a doubt Dispatches from the west side indi cate a large Democratic majority, and that the entire ticket is elected." Ex-governor Hauser and Colonel Broadwater coincide in this view. Leslie adds : "The Australian system worked like a charm." Fisk, of the Herald, Republican, says Toole is probably eleoted, but believed Carter will get in by a small majority. Con servative Republicans feel that way from the indications as the polls olose. The ticket is a long one, and it will be late before sufficient returns are in to know the result of the governor and congressman. Great Falls gives a Democratic majority of 75, a gain of 200 over last year. At 1050 o'clock the Republican committee claim the state by 1,250 on congress. They also claim the lower house, but -concede -the senate and governor tojthaJemocrats from re turns now in. IN SOUTH DAKOTA. Minneapolis, Oct 1. The Tri bune's estimate of the re3olfc in South Dakota i& as follews: ''Up to this hour, 2 a. 2C, not enough details of the vote has been received1 to state the result in South Daketa: in actual figures, but the dispatches from -the 1 principal towns, inoluding; those that were uanuiaajces lor iuQoaoic& or temnorsrv canital show that the'Re- publioans havemade a clean sweep of the state. The majority, as shown by the vote for Mellette for governor, and Piok ler and Gilford for congress, will be from 10.000 to 12,000. TheRepubli cans will have a large majority in the legislature, thus insuring the election -oMwo TJnitediStates senators for the Republicans. The constitution is carried almost unanimously andthe, minority rep. reaentation is bo far in the minority as to be almost lost sight of. There is hardly a doubt that prohi- ( bition-basbeen carried. The capital -'question is mixed. "Watertowrr-claims to have enongh to win, and theother candidates make equally favorable claims, but as it appearsnow, Pierre is the lead, with Huron aldose 'second, and Sioux Falls third.- . . NORTH DAKOTA. Bismabok, N. D.t Oct 1. The offi cial count for the oity chows an aver age majority - for the Republican ticket of 163. Private telegrams from twenty-five legislative districts show -the -election--ot-sixty-jieven- members of the legislature favorable to' Gilbert A. Pierce for the United States sen ate. Four more are known to be for Pierce in safe Republican counties, giving him 71 vote3 sure out of a total of 92 in both houses. Eleven county precincts, and the city of Bis marck give a majority-of 449 against prohibition. The constitution has been carried almost solidly. Aver's Hair Vicor keens the hair fresh and bright.
