The acting sectetary of the in terior -has approved the decision of tho commissioner ot the general land office, holding that the trian gular body of land, embracing some 200,000 acres, lying north west of the unforfeited grant to the Oregor Central railway company and lying along the line of the forfeited portion, to be public lands and subject to entry. Advices frc n Hodiak, Alaska, bearing date or April 5, state that the schooner Flying Scud, hailing from that port, was lost at sea. Those on board were her owner, H. Anderson, Cant. Nels Hansen, Nassili GrisenotF, his son and four teen native hunters. All were lost. It is supposed that the ves sel shifted her ballast and cap sized in a gale in Shelikhoff straits. The steamer St. Paul will leave San Francisco for Seal islands and St. Michael's about May 10. She will carry several missionaries to the great Arctic province to labor among the natives. Supplies for miners on the upper Yukon will form a portion of her freight. San Francisco, April 28. The sloop Spyy nineteen tons, has heen purchased by the Pacific Steam Whaling company. NOTICE is hereby given that the Common Council propose to order the improvement of Concomiy street in the city oi Asforia-, Clatsop county, Oregon, as laid, out and recoftied by John Mc Clure from the west side of Maui street to the western end of said Concomly street, by raisinff that portion from Washington street to the western end of Concomly street to its established grade and by planking the same to a width of twenty feet through the center thereof, and by building a side walk on the north side thereof, and by planking that portion between Washington and Main streets to its full width, and by building side walks on both sides there of, and unless a remonstrance signed by the owners of two thirds of the proper ty adjacent to said portion of said street he filed with the Auditor and Police juace within ten day? of the final publication of this notice, viz: Tuesday.
