I don't claim thev are fresh as some do who have but a few chick ens and it takes them a month to get a shipment, but because I have the largest Chicken ranch this side of Portland, run by experienced hands, pick up the eggs every day and bring them to town 3 times a week. And don't you forget It that every egg bought iromtne aoove parties is guaranteed by them to be fresh. S.K. STANLEY;." M0SSBA0KISM. The following is from tho Ash laud Tidings: Probably no country on the face of the globe is more favorable to the development of the genuine mossback than is our fair state of Oregon. Throughout tho Willam ette valley -ou find" the species in its perfection hard, tough moss on the back, livinjr i moss cov ered cabins, v cobwebs in the loft and cobwebs in the bkull -utterly unable to comprehend how anything can change from the way k has always been in Oregon, or how any change can be of advan tage. "The country has too many peo ple now; and "there ain't nothing for 'em to do; and they can't make a livin' and you can't sell nothin'; and you couldn't raise it if you could sell it; and it don't pay no how; and land ain't worth what it was; and Oregon ain't no good, no how." And the only comfort the creature has is in listening to the croaking of his own dismal voice, and occasionally frightening a stranger away with an ominous sound. The-e are some pretty fair spec imens of tho croaking mossback in southern Oregon, and his croak is occasionally heard on the streets, lie is the bauo of enterprise and progress and the most provoking part of the heavy inertia that must be moved by the few people of genuine enterprise and lite in even community. It is always a source of cratulatiou when he can be induced to take himself ana his moss and croaks oft' to afflict some oilier place, ana our on community has expeiienced such welcome rebel in one or two in stances recently. lhe vacancy left is always very small and easily filled with more valuable material. Somebody should invent some method of induoing mossback emigration from Oregon it would be worth millions to lhe state. But probably the invention is not so badly needed, after all, for the mossback will soon be crowded out an-how. He has been pretty nearly exterminated in many por tions of California, and the rush and swirl of enterprise is coming in over the borders of our state, too. This will soon kill the moss back. He can't endure activity. JV f w f tho good things of VXl'iArYVV this lifo ar0 sorrowful ly let alone on account of Byspopsia. We could mention numerous instances where the imustice to the settler is even greater than in the Merrill case, but do not suppose it would have any effect so long as Oregon has but three electoral votes to New York's 3G Mist. I have tried a number of physicians, but without receiving any permanent benefit. Among the number were oneor two specialists. The medicine they applied was like Arc to the sore, causing Intenso pain. I saw a statement In the papers telling what S. S. S. had done for others similarly afflicted. I procured some at oscc. Before I bad used tho second bottle tbe neighbors could notice that my cancer wa3 healing up. My general health had been bad for two or threo years I had a hacking cough and spit blood continually. I had a severe pala In ray breast. After taking six bottles of S. S. S. my cough left mo and I grew stouter than I had been for several years.
